The EPA provides information about the existence and dangers of Radon gas at EPA.gov.
Testing is a simple process, that when completed by a licensed professional can provide reliable information about the level of Radon gas in a building. The EPA indicates that nearly 1 out of every 15 homes in the U.S is estimated to have elevated Radon levels, and encourages homeowners to test their home to determine if excessive Radon is present.
At Beaver Radon our licensed Radon Professional uses the latest in Radon testing technology. In most cases a Radon testing device will be placed in the structure for no more than three days and will continuously collect information about the environment, including the existence of Radon. The testing device will provide the amount of Radon detected and our licensed professional will use the most current EPA guidelines to determine if a Radon mitigation system is required.
The EPA recommends the following testing schedule:
If there is no Radon mitigation system in the home: Test every five years.
If there is an Active Radon mitigation system in the home: Test every two years.
Radon mitigation system installation:
If a licensed Radon Testing Professional identifies excessive Radon in your home it is recommended that a mitigation system be installed. The Beaver Radon Mitigation Installation Professional will custom design a Radon mitigation system for the home.
In most cases a Radon Mitigation system can be fully installed in one day. There could be a need for the electrician to return to hardwire the fan. The cost of the licensed electrician is included in any quote received from Beaver Radon.
